What to know about Telehealth?

Our clinic offers two types of telehealth appointments: phone or video telehealth.

Our Clinic offers Video Consultation via HotDoc (online booking) or WhatsApp or Zoom (condition applies). If you choose Zoom, please add us in your contact detail : admin@poetscornermc.com.au  or If you choose WhatsApp, please add us in your contact detail : 0452 205 396

The rules on accessing Medicare rebates for Telehealth appointments have recently changed. Our clinic will charge 20$ for Telehealth consultations if you do not meet the clinic criteria for Bulk-billing Telehealth consultations.

The criteria for Bulk-billing Telehealth consultations are available with our doctors if you meet the following criteria:
  1. Has attended an in-person consult at our clinic within the last 12 months(*) (Conditions Applies) or
  2. The doctor performing the telehealth service is located at a medical practice where patient has had at least one face to face services arranged by the practice in the 12 months preceding the telehealth attendance (including services performed by another doctor located at the practice)

And

  1. Patients who have respiratory symptoms and got covid positive test result or
  2. patients who have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting their result or
  3. close contacts of a confirmed COVID-19 case who have been directed to self- isolate or
  4. patients diagnosed with COVID-19 who are isolating at home or
  5. infants (under 12 months old) or
  6. people who are homeless or
  7. patients receiving an urgent after-hours service or
  8. people living in a flooded affected area or
  9. patients accessing for mental health service, pregnancy counselling services, blood borne viruses, reproductive health consultation or.
  10. Patients who are housebound, elderly patients who are sick and not able to walk or sick children or
  11. Repeat Referral or repeat prescription or
  12. New patient who never attended an in-person consult but has respiratory symptoms (condition applies –please check with our receptionist or our nurse) and covid positive test results
