New COVID-19 booster advice for 2023
A COVID-19 vaccine booster dose is now recommended if you haven’t had a COVID-19 vaccine dose or confirmed COVID-19 infection in the past 6 months, and you’re:
- Aged 65 years or older, or
- Aged 18 to 64 years and at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
You should consider a booster dose, in discussion with your doctor or vaccination provider, if you’re:
- Aged 18 to 64 years and aren’t at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19
- Aged 5 to 17 years and at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
You can have a COVID-19 vaccine booster dose in 2023 regardless of how many prior vaccine doses
you’ve already received.
